Wow, us here at JrNet cannot believe how fast this year has past. Today we are going to go through the history of JrNet(even the parts no one except us know) and what the future holds in store.

So, I Osvaldo Rosado, better known as the admin or Afrothunder will start first.

JrNet first started back in 2004, hosted on my pc on my slow(but fast for then) DSL connection. The website was slow, but not too bad and themes changed often. There was no constant visitor flow and not even Xhonster would come XD(If you are reading this, Xhonster was nice and didn't edit this out of the final copy) It was on a dynamic IP so the website would be inaccessible once in a while. We had one of those domains from smart dots too. It was jrnet.us.tc!

The website was off for a while after a few months then started gain for a few months, then back off. This kept happening until around mid-2006. I started JrNet again but ultamatly had to stop it because no one was visiting still and there was no point.

On this day in 2007, JrNet(which was on already for about a week, but wasn't ready yet) displayed the first we're back message on the new server. The new server(which is currently being used) is on a shared hosting plan on a pretty fast connection(not the fastest but perfectly reasonable). The website suffered from many slowdowns, mySQL errors(due to slowness or downtime) and full server downtime for a while, but stablized after I had asked to be moved to another server owned by the hosting company, twice. JrNet has not been down for a while now and hopefully never will be.
This new iteration of JrNet, began to pick up a visitor stream, but it was very low. Shortly after the release of the JrNet Games Plugin, and Xhonster's constant articles and reviews we began picking up constant visitors and a generally growing trend.
This version also has the most features of all of the previous ones. We began using the Google Apps™ service for anyone who becomes an article writer or above(just ask, it's easy to become a writer :) ) The Google Apps™ service is used to provide users with email, document writing, editing and collaboration, and a calendar service. We also have things like the JrNet Games Plugin and the JrNet Blog to help our users out.

Now I think I'm going to give the mic over to Xhonster.

Oh, whoops, I forgot. Xhonster never logged into Docs and put in his paragraph. Oh well. Maybe he'll edit this article later on today with it so check back later.

Ok, admin here again. The future of JrNet has many cool things in store. We are currently planning a new JrNet experience that will make all of your tasks easier and more efficient. First off there will be a new theme with a dock that is always at the bottom of your browser to have all of the most frequently used tasks right at your fingertips. At the top of your browser is a status bar that gives you all of the info you need to know, even a news ticker bar.
An easy game maker will be created to be used right inside your browser and you can make games to share with the whole world with just button clicks. More experienced programmers can distribute games with the JrNet Games Plugin. Both of these tools will allow us to make a game community site, powered by you, the users.
That's not even the beginning of it, but its about all I can say right now :)

Well, that's pretty much it. I hope you enjoy the new theme for the website and the JrNet Games Plugin, these things are going to last for the week. I also hope that you will enjoy what we are bringing for the future.

EDIT:

Xhonster, while he didn't edit the article yet, did upload a video 'trying'  to say something about JrNet's 1 year anniversary.
